I made this artwork because I was watching a lot of home renovation videos at the time and I was wondering how I would design a kitchen as I had never done this before. And as I came to find out there are a lot of guidelines that kitchen designers keep to make every space they design not only aesthetically pleasing, but also functional.
My design began with finding an online floorplan that I could turn into a 3d model to start designing my kitchen. When I found a floorplan, I liked I began by looking at some references and quickly found out that nowadays most people want a kitchen island even though they do not fit in a lot of rooms. Luckily the one I chose did have the necessary space. And so, I decided to make a narrow L-shaped kitchen with a small kitchen island.
I added a lot of functionality to the kitchen island and I made it so it would primarily be used for food prepping like cutting and washing vegetables. And in the end, I could see why so many people like them.
This is one of my newest projects. The idea started with the painting that hangs on the wall. I was messing with some interesting material shaders and combined them with some odd shapes. This later turned into the artwork you see on the wall.
When I wanted to post it online, I was thinking of the idea to add a room it would be placed in to make the artwork that much more complete. In my designing process I had some trouble choosing the colours I would use within the space. I choose a colour palette of warm grey and brown tones as this would make the room feel very calm and comforting.
So, this room is one of the first I ever designed in 3d. At the time I was looking at a lot of cyberpunk style things on Pinterest and so I chose to make a room in that style. In the end I think it is still one of the most unique rooms I designed.
The layout of the room is actually based on my own room. Although it definitely didn’t have all of the glowing bits. But what I like most about this art piece is that it started my interest in interior visualisation.
So, this is the room I designed during my first internship in college. I was going to be working with a different software package and so to get to know the program a little better I designed a room.
I had a little bit of trouble to get this room to look the way I wanted to. The new program I was using wasn’t exactly what I was used to and it took me quite some time to get it to work. Eventually I did manage to make it work though.
The room is support to be the living room of a small apartment. At the time I was watching a lot of detective related series so I wanted to give the design some darker tones and still keep it cosy and calm in the process.
